The Charles has just completed a full make over to the property in June 2025 which includes the Main Parlor, Dining Room and all 11 Guestrooms and Suites.

The Hotel was formerly a Grand Victorian Mansion built in 1904 and now houses 11 Guestrooms and Suites with private bathrooms, fireplaces in most rooms, and some rooms have ocean views.

Blocks away from Downtown Pacific Grove guests can enjoy some the finest restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula as well a walk along the Coastline to Historic Cannery Row.

At The Charles, we’re committed to creating a welcoming space for all guests. We offer two ground-floor rooms with partial accessibility features to better accommodate individuals with mobility needs. For step-free entry, an accessibility ramp is available on the south side of the building near the parking area.
As a historic property built over a century ago, The Charles is limited in its ability to meet full ADA compliance. While we’ve made thoughtful adjustments to increase comfort and access, certain structural elements remain unchanged in order to preserve the integrity of the building.
